Conifex partners with Play, Learn, Grow Together program and Mackenzie Public Library
Conifex Timber has been involved in many initiatives to support families and their communities. In partnership with the Play, Learn, Grow Together program and the Mackenzie Public Library, Conifex has donated tablets, books, and bags to help early childhood development at home.

We are proud to be a part of the vibrant communities where we work. We provide local donations, partner in research and education and promote local citizenship in our communities. We recognize the important role local non-profit organizations serve in our communities and maintain a corporate donations policy, which focuses on donations to three main types of organizations: health and human services, education, and the arts. We also have a matching donation program to encourage employee giving. Our people are also leaders in the community by volunteering with youth groups, search and rescue, and sports teams, just to name a few. We strive to facilitate civic engagement as a company to continue to be an integral part of the communities in which we work, live and play.

INDIGENOUS RECONCILIATION
Conifex recognizes that we work, live and play on traditional Indigenous territories across B.C. Our current forestry operations are on the traditional territories of McLeod Lake Tse’khene, Tsay Keh Dene, Kwadacha, Takla, Nak’azdli Whut’en, West Moberly, Halfway River, Doig River, Saulteau, Blueberry River and Horse Lake First Nations.
Moving to true, lasting reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, we support the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as the framework for reconciliation in the province. Through strong relationships with First Nations communities, we collaborate on regular forest management planning consultations, creating local job opportunities, internships and training initiatives.
We also partner with Indigenous companies to exchange services, products and knowledge, including log procurement, harvesting, silviculture and training. Our major contracts include Abraham Creek Holdings Ltd., Steel Creek Silviculture (Takla First Nation) and Chu Cho Industries Limited Partnership (Tsay Keh Dene Nation). We have a unique alliance with, and believe our future success is tightly linked to, the success of our First Nations partners and neighbours.
